Prior to visiting the gorilla families, all clients are required to take a PCR Covid test at a cost of $50 for the client. There are three testing points. You can test at the airport in Kigali, Regional Hospital in Kigali, or in Musanze/Ruhengeri, near the gorilla expedition.

If you test positive you cannot visit on that day but can test again the next day.

Therefore it is very important that you try to ensure that you are Covid free before arriving.

If you are visiting the gorillas in Uganda you do need a Covid test as long as you have proof of vaccinations.

Travel Advisory

Due to a recent increase in airline cancellations clients are strongly encouraged to arrive at least one day ahead of your gorilla expedition date.

In the case of a flight cancellation, one can easily miss their expedition time and rescheduling can be expensive or not possible during your stay in the country.

Arriving early can also give you the chance to recover from jet lag, depending on where you are traveling from. If you do arrive before your gorilla expedition date there are several very interesting cities to visit in Kigali before the gorilla trek. Our tour advisors can help with organizing museum visits, city tours, or a more leisurely drive to the area of the gorilla expedition.
