Detailed itinerary for 6 days Rwanda Uganda Safari

Day 01:  Transfer from Kigali to Uganda

Following an early morning breakfast, you will depart your hotel and head to the Gisozi genocide memorial center. While here, you will witness the graveyards of the genocide victims laid to rest. You have a great opportunity to watch some of the touching videos and pictures and listen to stories that narrate the horrifying genocide act in the past years. You will then continue to Nyamata Church where over fifty thousand people were killed as they sought shelter in the church.

You will then visit the presidential palace museum, the state house of the former president the late Juvenal Habyarimana whose death in a plane crash sparked the genocide in 1994.

Later in the afternoon, you will embark on your transfer to Uganda (Mgahinga) where you will arrive in the late evening for dinner and an overnight stay at your already booked accommodation.

Day 02:  Habituation of golden Monkey – Transfer to Rushaga

Following an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will head to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a golden monkey habituation experience. The activity is one of a kind on the continent and can only be done in Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing on dos and don’ts and also be grouped into groups of six individuals. from the headquarters, you will trek into the national park with a great 4 hours duration on the golden monkey habituation experience.  You will enjoy these primates in their natural habitats as they play in the bamboo-infested forest, and mate among others.

After the habituation experience, you will trek back to the park headquarters for your departure back to the hotel. You will then continue with a transfer to Rushaga for the next adventure on your safari package.

Day 03: Gorilla Trekking

Today following early morning breakfast, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the Park -Rushaga with your packed lunch for briefing about dos and don’ts before you enter the Impenetrable Bwindi. There are a lot of other forms of wildlife to get your eyes on besides the mountain gorillas that are the primary attraction in the park. you will have a life-changing moment in these thick forests as you watch these massive creatures do their daily activities.

Day 04:  Transfer to Kibale via Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park via Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way through the country’s second-largest National Park, you will witness several animal species. The park’s diverse ecosystems, which include sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes, and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for the classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees, and over 600 species of birds. A sighting experience is thus guaranteed here.

Upon your arrival at Kibale, you will check in at your hotel, have dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 05:  Chimpanzee tracking

Have an early morning breakfast and be at the park headquarters early enough for a briefing concerning chimpanzee tracking such that by 8:00 am you start the search for these primates in the forest. Meeting these chimpanzees is a great time whereby you will be able to take photographs of these creatures which carry DNA (98% like that of human beings). You will also see other various primates like the LHoests monkeys, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, white and black colobus, red-tailed monkeys, also birds will be spotted like the green breasted pitta, rumped tinker bird and also different plant species will be seen.

Day 06: Transfer to Kigali/Kampala

Depending on your choice of destination, our driver guide will transfer you either to Kigali or Kampala for your out bond flight back home.
