Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met and greeted by a designated driver guide who will welcome you to this land of a thousand hills, give you a briefing of this tour then you will board your safari vehicle and embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park, home of almost half the population of the endangered mountain gorillas. Once at the lodge, check in and enjoy an afternoon of relaxation ahead of your gorilla trekking experience.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation experience
Wake up to a breakfast at the lodge then well prepared with your hiking equipment and a packed lunch you will meet your driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters at 6:00am where you will meet with the ranger guide, and trackers and embark on a search for the half-habituated gorilla family starting from where they had spent the night before. This hike will take between 4-8 hours and you will be allowed up to 4 hours with these gentle giants observing them as they go about their way of life. After, you will return to the starting point where you will meet your driver guide and return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation and dinner.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking
In the morning, you will enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, and pack for another day in the park. You will start your gorilla trekking experience at the park headquarters at 7:00am with a briefing where you will learn about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking and learn about the park and different gorilla families. After a briefing, your driver guide will transfer you to the trailhead where you will meet your ranger guide and the other members of your group and begin the hike in search for the mountain gorillas. This hike will take between 3 to 5 hours and you will be allowed one hour in the presence of these majestic gentle giants. After, you will hike out of the forest and receive your certificates for a successful trek then with your driver guide return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali
After a restful night, wake up at leisure and have your breakfast then drive back to Kigali where you will catch your onward flight.
