The 10 days primate and wildlife safari in Uganda gives visitors a chance to see both the primates and wildlife. The adventure takes you through Murchison National Park where you will do a game drive and launch a cruise on your way to Murchison. You will have a quick visit to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Then you will head to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk. After this magical experience you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive in the Kasenyi sector and Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. You will also do gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

DETAILED ITINERARY FOR THE 10 DAYS GORILLAS & BIG GAME SAFARI

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Our tour guide will be waiting for you at Entebbe International Airport with a placard that has your names on it. When you arrive, you will have a brief city tour of Kampala and Entebbe that includes the Kasubi tombs, the shrine of Namugongo Martyr, the shores of Lake Victoria, the Uganda Museum.  After the tour you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner and resting.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Our company driver guide will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast and give you a quick rundown of your tour. Later, you will go through Masindi and Luweero-Nakasongola to reach Murchison Falls National Park. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way to track rhinos. Lunch will be had in Masindi town. After lunch, continue to the park, where you will go to see the falls. The park’s most fascinating section is this one. At the top of the falls, you can witness the splendor of the powerful Nile River as its waters shout loudly as they squeeze themselves into a 7-meter cleft that is 45 meters deep. Proceed to the designated lodging location for dinner and the night.

Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise

You will go on a game drive in the park’s northern region after breakfast in the morning. Elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, antelopes including bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs, and other stunning and diverse park fauna will be the reward for the game drive. In the afternoon after lunch, you will head for launch cruise along the Albert Nile. Watch for water-loving creatures including crocodiles along the riverbanks, elephants drinking, hippos, and several bird species. After the launch cruise you will, head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

You will depart and make your way to Kibale Forest National Park following breakfast. You will be rewarded with breathtaking views all the way to the park, particularly of the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains in Kasese. Additionally, you will drive by other Hoima homesteads, tea and banana plantations, and other local residences. After lunch in Hoima town, you will travel to Fort Portal, arriving in the evening where you will eat dinner and spend the night.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest and Bigodi swamp walk

You will get up very early in the morning and travel to Kanyanchu to begin your chimpanzee trip in Kibale Forest. At the park you will receive instructions on how to conduct yourself around the gorillas. You will see a variety of other primate and animal species as you search for these stunning chimps, such as the LHoests monkey, the black and white colobus monkey, the red-tailed monkey, the grey-cheeked mangabey, bush babies, and numerous bird species like the yellow-spotted nictor, ramped tinker, and crowed eagle, and elephants.
This national park, which stands at an elevation of 3,300 feet, is a rain forest with a big chimpanzee population. Each troop of chimpanzees has more than 100 individuals, forming a competitive social structure. Within their communities, the adult males are in charge and constantly protect the entire group against outside threats and intrusions by males. By listening to their pant-hooting calls, one can find these primates and quickly head to the location from which they are calling. You get to see them play, eat, interact with one another, and hop around the trees.
After the long trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch you will set out for the Bigodi wetland visit. After is long day, you will go back to you lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

When you’re done with breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park after checking out of the accommodation. This national park is well-known for its diverse wildlife, including chimpanzees. Lake Edward borders this well-known conservation area to the southwest, while Lake George borders it to the northeast. The impalas, Kobs, forest pigs, elephants, buffaloes, tree-climbing lions, and cape buffaloes are among the many animal species found in this park. Numerous volcanic calderas in this national park are also home to flamingos throughout the year. You will have lunch at the lodge when you get to Queen Elizabeth and then spend the afternoon relaxing.

Day 7: Game drive and Launch cruise
Start your day with an early morning game drive to see more of the park’s inhabitants, including lions, leopards, and other animals. Queen Elizabeth is a haven for birdwatchers, with over 500 species of birds and a perfect home to the big five animals.  Some of the bird species to view in the park include kingfishers, the black bee-eater, and falcons, eagles, and other raptors. Queen is connected to Lake George and Lake Edward by the Kazinga Channel, which passes through the western part of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

From the game drive to your lodge have lunch and then carry out an evening boat cruise at Kazinga channel.  This canal links both Lake Edward and George, thus attracting a number of wildlife.  You will be able to view elephants, buffaloes, and hippos along its banks. Lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck, stripped jackal, grazing hippos, and of course, a number of warthogs are all likely to be encountered. After the cruise you will drive to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

When you are done with breakfast, you will travel through the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its uncommon tree-climbing lions, to Bwindi Park. As you pass by, keep an eye out for the uncommon fig tree climbing lions. Continue on until you get at Buhoma in the evening, where you will have dinner, rest for a little, and spend the night.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking experience

Today is your day to meet up with these great apes within their natural habitat. Once breakfast is finished and you have packed a lunch, you will be escorted to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorillas.

After being assigned a guide, you will embark on your adventure. Depending on how the gorillas move, the time required, and the terrain can vary from one to eight hours. The thrill of a face-to-face encounter relieves the agony of an often drawn-out and exhausting journey. Although every experience is unique and offers unique benefits, you are likely to appreciate the up-close look at adults eating, grooming, and relaxing as the children playfully cavort and swing from vines. You will stroll back to your resort for the night after tracking.

Day 10: Transfer back to Kampala

You will have an early breakfast at the lodge, after which you will drive back to Kampala and have lunch in Mbarara town. On your way back, you will pass via Kabale commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its hills and beautiful scenery. You will  reach Kampala late evening and drop off at your Hotel in Kampala.
