Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & transfer to volcanoes national park.
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be met and greeted by a well-trained professional driver guide who will brief you about this safari and before you know it you will be transferred to Volcanoes national park where you will arrive just in time for lunch. On arrival, check into your gorilla lodge and enjoy a hot lunch. After lunch, head out for a visit to the Diane Fossey museum where you will learn about her gorilla conservation story. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you contemplate on the gorilla trekking adventure that lies ahead of you.

Day 2: First Gorilla trekking at volcanoes national park
Early morning, wake up to a breakfast at the lodge and pack for a day in the park: water, jacket, camera, and a packed lunch. At 7:00am, assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking and learn about the different gorilla families in Volcanoes national park. After a briefing, your driver guide will drop you off at the trail head and together with your group and a ranger guide you will start the hike in search of the mountain gorillas. During this hike, you will enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of the rain forest. After enjoying a majestic one-hour stay with the gorillas, you hike back out of the park and return to the lodge for an afternoon of relaxation.

Day 3: Second Gorilla trekking at volcanoes national park
Just like the day before, you will an early enjoy breakfast at the lodge, and well prepared with your hiking gears you will transfer to the park headquarters. The briefing will be conducted at the park headquarters and after the briefing you will be assigned a different gorilla family to visit. After the briefing, together with your driver guide, you will proceed on a brief drive to the forest trail to begin the trek. The hike will take you between 3 to 5 hours and after finding the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed 1-hour in their presence observing them and taking photographs. After enjoying a memorable one-hour stay with the mountain gorillas, you return to the starting point where you will meet your driver guide and return to the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali
After a proper night’s rest, wake up at leisure and proceed on a scenic drive back to Kigali for your onward flight.
