Detailed itinerary of 7 days Rwanda gorillas and Zanzibar beach holiday

 Day 1:Arrival and  Kigali city tour

You will arrive at Kigali International Airport and be welcomed by our driver guide, who will give a briefing about the country and the whole trip. In case you arrive earlier, you will go out for the Kigali city tour, in which you will visit the Kigali genocide Memorial and art and craft centers.  After the tour, check into the hotel for dinner and overnight.

 Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – twin lakes boat cruise

After breakfast, , you can visit one of the places you missed in the  previous day’s city tour for example, the former presidential palace or Kimironko market. Later  set off on  2 or3 hors journey to Volcanoes National Park. The route is so scenic and is true reflection of why Rwanda is referred to as the land of a thousand hills. Check into the accommodation and then drive to the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo for an adventurous boat cruise.

Day 3:  Gorilla trekking and Ib’yiwachu cultural visit.

After an early morning breakfast, you will be taken to the park offices by 7:00 am to attend a briefing. The park officials will share important information about tracking mountain gorillas.

After the briefing, you will be assigned to one of the 10 habituated gorilla groups found in Volcanoes National Park. You will also be given a chance to hire a porter if you have heavy equipment. The Rangers will lead you into the bamboo forests and mountain slopes in search of the gentle giant primates. Mountain gorilla trekking is a bit challenging, but once you meet the group, you will realize that it was worth all the effort and cost. You are only allowed one hour to observe the primates as you take photos. After one hour, you will return to the starting point to meet your driver to transfer you back to the lodge for lunch. Later, you will be taken to the  Iby’iwacu Cultural village, the best place to experience Kinyarwanda and Batwa culture. Expect to be entertained by cultural dancers after taking a tour of the place.

Day 4:Transfer to Kigali and flight to Zanzibar

After morning breakfast,  drive   back to Kigali.  You can make stopovers depending on your  flight time. you will fly to Zanzibar where you will meet  a tour representative who will take you to your booked accommodation.

 Days 5 and 6:  Zanzibar beach exploration

In these two days, enjoy the best of Zanzibar, a beautiful island with beautiful beaches. If you’re interested in snorkeling, spend some good time in the blueness of the ocean to experience Zanzibar’s stunning marine life. Explore some of the island’s most beautiful coral reefs and the Sandbank. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and visiting interesting places like Jozani-Chwaka National Park

Have a taste of the island dishes, which include fresh seafood BBQ, fish, prawns, lobsters, and other sea delicacies.

You can also have a spice tour to any of the spice farms as a way of experiencing the island’s agriculture and history. Some of the spices on this island include cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla.

Day 7: Transfer to  Zanzibar airport and departure

Have a leisurely breakfast as you take a view of the blue waters at one of the resort beaches where you have been spending your nights. You will be transferred to the airport in Zanzibar, where you will be able to fly back home.
