Day 1 Arrival and Hotel Transfer

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we will transfer to Arusha city for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

Following a brief morning orientation, you will proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the smallest yet most diversified parks in Tanzania. Lake Manyara, a small and alkaline body of water, occupies a significant portion of the park and serves as a summer habitat for thousands of flamingos, creating a remarkable pink spectacle. In addition, over 500 other avian species inhabit the area, along with several remarkable mammals. Monkey troops inhabit the jungles, while giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests reside on the grassy plains, and elephants and lions occupy the acacia woodlands. The vehicle’s open roof allows for observation of wildlife and appreciation of the scenery. Following a comprehensive wildlife drive and a picnic lunch, you will depart the park to proceed to the cooler areas of the Ngorongoro highlands.

Day 3 Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Excursion

Following an early departure, you will proceed to drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is almost 600 meters deep, approximately 20 kilometers in diameter, and the expansive caldera hosts a remarkable diversity of wildlife. During your game drive, you may encounter a variety of species, including the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, and leopard, as well as Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. Spotted hyenas, uncommon wild dogs, and over 500 bird species may also be observed in the vicinity. Following a picnic lunch at the crater and additional wildlife observation, you will depart from the crater in the afternoon and return to Karatu.

Day 4 Game Drive in Tarangire National Park and Transfer to Arusha

Following breakfast, you proceed to another park on the Northern Circuit, Tarangire National Park. This park, characterized by expansive grasslands, towering baobab trees, the perennial Tarangire River, and seasonal marshes, hosts the greatest elephant herds in northern Tanzania. Various animals congregate near the river, including elephants, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, dik-diks, waterbucks, warthogs, and reedbucks, observable throughout the year. Additionally, the park hosts buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, who are consistently pursued by various predators, including lions. Leopards are occasionally observed, although cheetahs are rarely sighted. Following a comprehensive wildlife drive, you will depart the park in the afternoon and arrive in Arusha by early evening.
