Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Double Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Mgahinga Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will meet our representative – your Driver – Guide at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport upon arrival and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in South western Uganda. Along the way you will have a stop in Kayabwe at the Equator Crossing for pictures and a chance to stand in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time, and lunch in Mbarara.

Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening, check in at your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnights stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today you will meet mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Wake up early for breakfast, meet your driver-guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the forest.

In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the forest led by a guide and armed ranger looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Spend an hour with the gorillas, watching them play, feed and groom each. Take many beautiful photos and videos. Return to your lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – the second home to mountain gorillas in Uganda and one of the four gorilla trekking destinations in Africa. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, and spend the rest of the day at rest. Alternatively you can go a boat cruise on Lake Mutanda and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Just like the previous gorilla trekking in Bwindi, you will wake up early for breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the forest.

In groups of 8 people, you will be led through the forest in search for the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family on a trek that takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on their movement and where they spent their previous night. On locating them, you will spend one hour in the presence as you watch them play, groom each, pick fruits and interact with each other. Trek back to the starting point where you will meet your driver-guide and return to your lodge for an evening of rest of dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure
