Begin your trip with a helicopter ride to Musanze- the gate way to Volcanoes national park offering you a bird eye few of this country and then crown it all with an encounter with the gentle, yet highly endangered mountain gorillas, leaving plenty of memories to carry with you.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and fly to Volcanoes national park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by a designated company representative who will welcome you to this land of a thousand hills. You will then board your helicopter for a 20 to 30 minutes transfer to Ruhengeri airport in Musanze. On arrival, you will meet your driver guide who will transfer you to your gorilla lodge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Today, you will have an encounter with the gentle giants in Volcanoes national park. Wake up to a breakfast at the lodge, after which, well dressed in your gorilla trek attire your driver guide will transfer you the Volcanoes national park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.
After the briefing, your driver guide will take you to the trailhead from where you will meet your ranger guide and the other members of your group and embark on a hike in search of the mountain gorillas. The hike lasts for about 2-5 hours depending on the gorilla family assigned to you and how far they had moved that day. Once you locate the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed 1-hour in their presence observing them and taking photographs. After, you will return to the starting point where you will meet your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation.

Day 3: Fly to Kigali and departure
After a proper night’s rest, wake up to a breakfast at the lodge after which you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Musanze airstrip where you will catch your transfer flight back to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
