Sited on a flat ridge deep in the impenetrable forests of Bwindi just a few minutes away from the park headquarters, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is one of the lodges inside Bwindi Impenetrable national park. The lodge is intentionally designed to offer guests the freedom to reflect and feel their senses inviting a wholeness that comes from leaning truly into nature as you sleep and wake up to sweet melodies from the forest.
This accommodation boasts an unrivalled location that offers exceptional wildlife and bird watching opportunities with a magnificent look out onto the forest canopy and spectacular views of the forest. It is the perfect base for trekking one of the gorilla families in Bwindi’s Buhoma sector.
Being a concessionaire of a gorilla national park, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest camp often receives regular visits from the mountain gorillas allowing some lucky guests to experience these gentle giants at the camps. Each of the camp tents have stylish and spacious rooms beautifully designed each with a huge bathtub for purposes of soaking tired muscles after the hikes and these are set up to look straight into the canopy jungle.

Sited on a mountain ridge with sweeping views of the stunning Virunga Volcanoes and the Great Rift Valley, Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is a remote, beautiful and intimate eco-tourism accommodation situated over 2000 meters above sea level located in Bwindi’s Nkuringo sector ahead of the gorilla trail.
This lodge was constructed about 20 years ago in partnership with the Africa Wildlife Foundation, the Gorilla Conservation Programme, and the local Nkuringo community with the aim to protect the habitat of the mountain gorillas.
Clouds Mountain Gorilla lodge boasts of 8 spacious cottages all built from volcanic stones. Each of the cottages features a spacious living room with a fireplace and comfy arm chairs, a bedroom, en suite bathroom and walk-in showers. It is designed with comfortable chairs set on the verandahs that offer the perfect vantage point to stare over the unforgettable panorama of the forest below and also see the glow of the Nyirangongo volcano on a clear night.
