This 3-days Uganda silverback gorilla tour will take you from the beautiful city of Kigali through the rolling hills and the lush green vegetation with the magnificent views of the 5 Volcanoes across the border to Uganda where you will meet with the most sought out primates in the world, the highly endangered mountain gorillas and the golden monkeys.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met and greeted by our friendly destination driver guide who will give you an insight into this safari, after which he will take you for a scenic drive with beautiful views of the 5 Volcanoes to Bwindi impenetrable national park ahead of the gorilla trek. Upon arrival at the gorilla lodge, you will check-in at the at your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Kisoro (Mgahinga national park)
Today you will have an encounter with the mountain gorillas. Wake up at 6:00am for a breakfast at the lodge, then well prepared in your hiking gears and a packed lunch, cameras, and water, you will head to the park head quarters for the gorilla trekking briefing starting at 8:00am. During the briefing, you will be informed on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking by an experienced ranger guide. After the briefing, you will be distributed into groups of 8 and each group assigned a gorilla family to visit. You will then board your safari vehicle and your driver guide will drop you off at the starting point of the trek. This hike will take you between 3-6 hours and once you find these gentle giants you will be allowed 1-hour in their presence observing them and taking photographs. After the gorilla encounter, you will return to the starting point where you will be awarded certificates for a successful trek. You will then meet your driver guide and proceed to Kisoro where you will check in at your lodge.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and return to Kigali
Wake up to a breakfast at the lodge then check out and head to Mgahinga national park where you will meet the golden monkeys, a species endemic to the Virunga conservation area. At the park headquarters, you will be briefed on the dos and don’ts of golden monkey trekking. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 8 and you will proceed on the hike in search of the golden monkeys. This hike will take between 3 to 4 hours and you will be allowed 1 hour in the presence of the golden monkeys. You will then return to the starting point where you will meet your driver guide and procced on yet another scenic drive back to Kigali where the driver guide will drop you off either at your hotel or Kigali International airport for your onward flight.
