1 day Uganda Silverback gorilla tour

This 1-day Uganda silverback gorilla tour will take you through the rolling hills of Rwanda across the border to Uganda’ Bwindi Impenetrable national park where you will come face to face with these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Itinerary overview

On this day, your designated driver guide will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00am and you will return to Kigali at about 6:30pm in the evening.

Detailed itinerary

Wake up before 4:00am and have a nourishing breakfast at your hotel. At 4:00am, your designated driver guide will pick you up from the hotel, give you an insight into this safari as you set off for Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable national park. This drive will take you across the border and you will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable national park headquarters at 7:30am just in time for the briefing that will begin at 8:00am by the ranger guide. During the briefing, you will be informed on what to expect during the gorilla trek, the code of conduct, and the proper dress code for the trek. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8, each with a ranger guide and each group assigned a gorilla family to visit.

Your driver guide will then transfer you to the trail head where you will again meet up with the other members of your group and ranger guide and begin the hike in search for the gorilla family assigned to you. This trek will take you between 3 to 6 hours and you get to spend 1-hour with the mountain gorillas upon meeting them, observing them and taking photographs. After the trek, return to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for a successful trek then meet your driver guide and embark on a scenic drive back to Kigali with magnificent views of the Virunga mountain ranges with a lunch stopover en route.
