Detailed itinerary

Day 1: City tour in Kigali and travel to Gisenyi

After your arrival and night at the hotel you will be picked up in the morning, head out for the city tour and here you are visit the Genocide memorial, local markets, craft stores and later you are to continue on to Gisenyi on the beaches of lake Kivu.

Day 2: Boat ride and head over to Congo

You’ll get the opportunity to explore one of Rwanda’s stunning freshwater bodies on a leisurely boat ride after breakfast. You will depart from the lodge after breakfast following the boat ride and go to Congo via the Cyangugu border. Although the travel to Congo is lengthy, Rwanda‘s stunning rolling hills will wow you if you enjoy the outdoors. Through the Bunagana border, you will then enter Congo and travel all the way to Bukavu town, which is near Kahuzi Biega National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking in the Eastern Lowlands in Kahuzi -Biega National Park

Registration at the park offices is the first step in the lowland gorilla trekking experience at Kahuzi-Biega National Park.  Before going to the park offices, you will enjoy breakfast after an early wake-up.  Following registration, you will receive a briefing on the park’s history, expectations, and the guidelines for tracking lowland gorillas.  You will be placed in one of the four habituated Eastern Lowland Gorilla groups by the park officials.  You should allow approximately four hours to search for the primates in the jungle. You will only have an hour with them, so after you locate them, spend as much time as possible observing.  Take as many pictures and movies as you can.  You will return to the starting place after finishing, where the driver will be waiting to take you to lunch.  The afternoon will be yours to relax while you get ready to go to the resort. Day 4: Arrival in Volcanoes National Park

When breakfast is finished, we head to Volcanoes National Park. Savor the various landmarks and meandering roads in the country of a thousand hills. Depending on your needs, there will be opportunities for various stopovers for stretching and photos.

Day 5: In Volcanoes National Park, gorilla trekking

Explore the Virunga ranges’ deep jungles to get a close-up look at the mountain gorillas. A ranger and a gorilla family are allocated to you for the hike after you receive a briefing at the park headquarters in Kinigi. Following the briefing, you are led to the trek’s beginning location by your ranger guide. Depending on where the gorilla group you are trekking with is located, you may need to drive to the start of the hike. Many people seek to enjoy the rewarding and fascinating journey into the habitat of these massive animals. Based on where the gorillas nested the night before, the walk may take a few minutes to several hours.

Day 6: Tracking and transferring Golden Monkeys to Bwindi

Following an early breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters for a briefing on the regulations governing the trekking of golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. This activity can last four to five hours. After returning, you will have lunch before continuing on to Bwindi Forest National Park in southwest Uganda, which is home to Africa’s mountain gorillas.

Day 7: Traveling to Queen Elizabeth National Park after gorilla trekking in Bwindi

After a hearty breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After that, you will head into the jungle to look for the most endangered mountain gorillas in the wild, which should take three to five hours. You will have to navigate the crazy slopes and terrains to find the apes, and once you have, you will spend an hour with them while taking pictures and videos in the national park. For the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will check in upon arrival for leisure and an overnight stay, please remember to pack a lunch. Return later to check out of the lodge.

Day 8: A boat excursion along the Kazinga Channel and a morning game drive

We begin the day with an early game drive that introduces us to a variety of animals, including the Big Five: elephants, buffalos, big cats (lions, leopards), warthogs, and humpback carnivals like hyenas. As we drive through the circuits, we also see many other species that call this park home. When we get to the Flamingos in the salt lakes at Kasenyi, we see a plethora of birds, particularly our local storks in the wetland areas. After lunch, we prepare for the classic highlights of the two-hour boat tour down the 36-kilometer Kazinga waterway, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. You can view both land and water here! This animal home is known to the  characterized by the yawning of adapted hippos, the Nile crocodile gaping along the banks, the National Geographical Society’s killing machine, and the Savannah version of Pigs, the Warthog, and the Pumba. Binoculars provide an amazing view of birds and animals, including the constantly entertaining African elephants in the water, throughout the peninsula.

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and return to Kigali:

Get up early for breakfast and then hike with chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge. After the trek, you will have lunch and check out of the lodge before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your journey home.
