Details Itinerary of 8 Days Uganda primate And Wildlife Safaris
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport
When you reach Entebbe international airport, you will be met by our driver guide. He will drive you to your hotel in Entebbe for relaxing, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
You will leave the hotel after breakfast and head to Kibale Forest National Park. On the way to Fort Portal, you will be able to take in a breathtaking view of the fabled “mountains of the moon.” As you admire the locals working in agriculture, you will also pass through a number of traditional villages.
Additionally, you will visit Fort Portal, which is surrounded by tea plantations in the foothills of Mount Rwenzori. After indulging in this green tea platform, you will proceed to Kibale Forest National Park, one of Africa’s largest rain forests. The park has over 13 monkey species that is black and white colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, and bird species are among the other primate species. The park is adjacent to Bigodi Wetland, which is owned and operated by the locals and is well known for its birdwatching and primate viewing activities
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland visit
You will get up very early in the morning and travel to Kanyanchu to begin your chimpanzee trip in Kibale Forest. At the park you will receive instructions on how to conduct yourself around the gorillas. You will see a variety of other primate and animal species as you search for these stunning chimps, such as the LHoests monkey, the black and white colobus monkey, the red-tailed monkey, the grey-cheeked mangabey, bush babies, and numerous bird species like the yellow-spotted nictor, ramped tinker, and crowed eagle, and elephants.
This national park, which stands at an elevation of 3,300 feet, is a rain forest with a big chimpanzee population. Each troop of chimpanzees has more than 100 individuals, forming a competitive social structure. Within their communities, the adult males are in charge and constantly protect the entire group against outside threats and intrusions by males. By listening to their pant-hooting calls, one can find these primates and quickly head to the location from which they are calling. You get to see them play, eat, interact with one another, and hop around the trees.
After the long trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch you will set out for the Bigodi wetland visit. After is long day, you will go back to you lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
When you’re done with breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park after checking out of the accommodation. This national park is well-known for its diverse wildlife, including chimpanzees. Lake Edward borders this well-known conservation area to the southwest, while Lake George borders it to the northeast. The impalas, Kobs, forest pigs, elephants, buffaloes, tree-climbing lions, and cape buffaloes are among the many animal species found in this park, which bears Queen Elizabeth II’s name. Numerous volcanic calderas in this national park are also home to flamingos throughout the year.
You will have lunch at the lodge when you get to Queen Elizabeth and then spend the afternoon relaxing.
Day 5: Game drive and boat ride in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start your day with an early morning game drive to see more of the park’s inhabitants, including lions, leopards, and other animals. Queen Elizabeth is a haven for birdwatchers, with over 500 species of birds and a perfect home to the big five animals. Some of the bird species to view in the park include kingfishers, the black bee-eater, and falcons, eagles, and other raptors. Queen is connected to Lake George and Lake Edward by the Kazinga Channel, which passes through the western part of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
From the game drive to your lodge have lunch and then carry out an evening boat cruise at Kazinga channel. This canal links both Lake Edward and George, thus attracting a number of wildlife. You will be able to view elephants, buffaloes, and hippos along its banks. Lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck, stripped jackal, grazing hippos, and of course, a number of warthogs are all likely to be encountered. After the cruise you will drive to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast you will depart from Queen to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have an en route lunch. You will check into your lodge where you will stay for the night and have dinner.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi impenetrable & Batwa community visit
Today is your day to meet up with these great apes within their natural habitat. Once breakfast is finished and you have packed a lunch, you will be escorted to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorillas.
After being assigned a guide, you will embark on your adventure. Depending on how these gentle giants move, the time required, and the terrain can vary from one to eight hours. The thrill of a face-to-face encounter relieves the agony of an often drawn-out and exhausting journey. Although every experience is unique and offers unique benefits, you are likely to appreciate the up-close look at adults eating, grooming, and relaxing as the children playfully cavort and swing from vines.
You will stroll back to your resort for the night after tracking.
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali international airport
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
