Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will go through the immigration procedures to validate your travel documents after which you will exit the airport and meet your designated driver guide. He will warmly welcome you to Uganda, the pearl of Africa, take you through the trip plan before you transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for relaxation.

Depending on your arrival time, you can engage in some optional activities around Entebbe such as Mabamba shoebill tracking, bird watching at the Entebbe botanical garden, visit to the craft shops, among others.

Day 2: Transfer from Entebbe to Kisoro (Fly)

Wake up for a breakfast at the hotel then your driver guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport where you will catch a domestic flight from Entebbe airport to Kisoro marking the start of your gorilla trekking safari. The flight to Kisoro takes about 1 hour offering stunning bird eye views of Uganda.

On arrival at Kisoro airstrip, your designated driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to the lodge where you will arrive just in time for lunch.

After lunch, you can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or head out for a walk either in the forest or communities. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 3: Gorilla trekking

After an early breakfast. You will pick up your packed lunch, drinking water and some snacks then well dressed in your proper hiking outfits leave for Bwindi Impenetrable national park headquarters before 7:00am. Upon arrival at the visitor’s center, you will assemble for the gorilla trek briefing by the ranger guides at 8:00am. After the briefing, you will be sub-divided into groups of 8 and each group assigned a gorilla family to visit. Your driver guide will transfer you to the trail head where you will meet the ranger guide assigned to your group and the other of members of the group and embark on the hike in search for the mountain gorillas. Two gun-baring rangers will come along with you for your safety from wild animals. During the hike, you will walk behind a machete-wilding guide who creates a path through the thick jungle ahead of you.

Once you locate the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed 1 hour in their presence observing them and taking photographs. Your time in the forest can not be pre-determined however from previous experience most travelers are usually out of the forest by 2:00pm.

Day 4: Relaxation/Optional activities

Today, you will have the day to yourself to properly appreciate the beauty of Bwindi Forest at leisure.

You can opt to stay back at the lodge and relax while enjoying the amenities at the lodge or take part in the different activities such as a forest walk, Batwa community experience, take a drive to Lake Mutanda where you will enjoy a traditional canoe ride experience with beautiful views of the volcanoes, Or take a second meeting with a different gorilla family in Bwindi Impenetrable national park either through the normal gorilla trek like the day before or in the gorilla habituation experience which allows you up to 4 hours in the presence of the mountain gorillas.

Day 5: Fly to Entebbe and Departure

Wake up at leisure to a breakfast at the lodge then pack up your bags and your driver guide will transfer you to Kisoro airstrip where you will take yet another scenic flight to Entebbe International Airport.

Once in Entebbe, depending on your flight time you will be transferred to your hotel where you will have a rest ahead of your scheduled flight later in the day.
